Pickleville Shout-out

I'd just like to take this chance to give a shout-out to Pickleville Playhouse.  They are doing two performances of their melodrama from last summer, The Hanging of El Bandito at the Eccles Conference Center on USU Campus, February 13th and 15th.  Amber and I went this last summer and saw their production of Annie Get Your Gun in Bear Lake and were thoroughly impressed.  Not only was it a much better and more fun-to-watch production than the one put on a couple of years ago by the Utah Festival Opera, but they did an excellent job of gracefully handling a power outage caused by a raccoon chewing their power lines.  I would recommend any of their productions, they do a fantastic job and it made for a wonderful anniversary date for Amber and I.

Disclaimer: I may or may not be hoping to get free tickets to one of the aforementioned performances by doing this shout-out.  Hey - if it would get you free tickets, wouldn't you do it too?  Seriously though, the promise of free tickets in no way influences my assessment of Pickleville or of any of their productions.  They are amazing at what they do and anybody's money (or blog space...) would be very well spent in getting tickets to see one of their shows.

Ha! Good luck getting free tickets:) I really do hope you get them because that would be really awesome. Did y'all know I'm going to be in SLC??? In April! With the kids! I won't have a car though. So if y'all want to see me and the kids, you have to drive down. Sorry. We'll all (including Nathan) be in Utah again at the end of May, but we won't have time to travel. We'll basically see his sister get married and turn around to come back home. He has school this summer--clinic duty.

We totally need to go to something there sometime. The whole concept of live entertainment (staged or otherwise) appeals to me. Ballets, plays, operas, you name it. And yes, good luck on the tickets!
